Double Gold Award Winners

We are thrilled to announce that The CHOYA From the Barrel has been awarded the prestigious Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2024. The carefully crafted Umeshu is matured for 3 years before aging in French oak casks for another 2 years. Rich and complex flavors, with notes of almond from the pit and flesh of the Ume fruit, and a smoky and luxurious bouquet from the cask.

In addition to The CHOYA From the Barrel, both The CHOYA Aged 3 Years Extra Fruit and The CHOYA Extra Years have also proudly received Double Gold Medals at the SFWSC 2024. Although not currently available in the US market, this recognition underscores the exceptional quality upheld by CHOYA's products.

The San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC)

Founded in 2000, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition is the oldest and largest competition of its kind. In 2022, the competition cemented its position as the largest spirits competition in the world with nearly 5,000 entries, led by Executive Director Anthony Dias Blue and Head Judge Jeffrey Morgenthaler.

A Double Gold is awarded to those spirits that receive a Gold medal rating by all members of the judging panel.
